Apart from FR-4, special substrates also play a significant role in PCB manufacturing, and now LT Circuit has launched a PCB product based on VT-901 polyimide. Special substrates play a crucial role in areas like communication devices, automotive electronics, medical equipment, industrial control, and automation, enhancing not only the performance of PCBs but also the reliability of electronic products.
Common special substrates in the market are mostly high-frequency and high-speed types, such as Panasonic, Rogers, and Taiflex. On January 30th, VT-901 polyimide obtained certification from the European Space Agency (ESA) for manufacturing high-density interconnect printed circuit boards. This positions ACB as the only PCB manufacturer capable of providing HDI technology within ESA's qualified domain. The VT-901PI material meets ESA standards, with a high heat resistance of 395°C, a high Tg of 250°C, and a low axial CTE of 50. Compliant with IPC4101E Appendix A inspection standards for aerospace materials, professional equipment is also used for manufacturing aerospace circuit boards.
